Not a bad day for us at all. Actually we had a very good time and caught a lot of fish. Our problem was no kickers. The big girls were no where to be found around us. We can't even talk about a big one that got away. We never had one on. emoRolleyes To start this morning it was the Derek McCullough fishing show. He kicked my butt and kept me swinging the aluminum handle for the first couple hours. Derek had our limit in the well before I caught my first keeper. emoRedface When Derek caught our fifth keeper he laughed and told me, "O.K. Jmax. the last time I did this you proceeded to cull every one of my fish. Time to do that again." It was not to happen today. I managed to put two in the final group we weighed in and Derek culled a couple of his first group also. He had one in that first group that was over four we never did cull. That one was 4/4, I think, and ended up being our best fish of the day. I added a 3/10 and then we had three other three's to round out our best five. Like I said, nothing big. emoScratch I think we did not go deep enough. It sounded like the guys who were in the upper weights were fishing much deeper then us. Our bass came from around 6 to 12 feet mainly around grass. Caught them on several baits with the big worm, shakey and crank being the best three. Ended up with 17.47 lbs with those five. Had about forty bass today boated, with half or better being keepers. Mostly in the two pound range. Considering how many fish we caught we had a lot of fun and caught them all day. We just needed a kicker or two to get our weight on up there and that never happened.

Congrats to all those who did find some better fish and a kicker or two to go with it. emoThumbsup Jmax
