Well, after a full year of projects, work, back pain, etc, etc excuses I was finally able to take a day for myself and hit the hard deck. I have only been able to fish twice in over a year and was waaay overdue.
Decided to hit South side of cemetery point due to easier access for a cripple. There was already a crowd so I ventured further to the point to get away. Drilled my first set of two holes @ 23 feet and never moved until it was time to go home. The ice 55 was showing active fish all morning and I had to drop my second pole because I couldn't keep up with the bites. Caught well over 40 or so fish and took 20 home for a nice dinner.
Swedish pimple (Hammered brass and silver) one with a green ratfinke and the other with a white with red flake gizzy bug. I didn't have any waxies but I did have some mealworms to get my first then I switched over to perch eyes.
Nice to get out and see some sun and clean air.
BTW, filleting perch is back breaking and time consuming. Dinner better be good! LOL

Now that sounds like a fun trip, and a nice way to re-visit your angling adventures. Don't ya just hate it when life gets in the way of good fishing.
So what for fish were you getting hit by? Perch, Crappie? Anything else? Find any with some size? Fun to have a day so active that the second rod is a burden...

Just perch and that was what I was targeting. Just typical 8-10 inchers, nothing of size per say but bigger than last year for sure.

Good for you Pat and a 10" perch from the View is good in deed. I guess I'll have to try it again before long. Were there many people fishing around you?

I like to fish away from crowds so I opted to venture further West than the crowd..... there was a bunch of folks just off the South beach and the north side was pretty busy all the way to browning. Driving home I saw a few foks fishing down from the caretakers place, wish I could make that hike, it is a great place to fish.

That is what I figured, getting away from the crowds is always best imo. When we fished it last Sat everyone was close to shore, so we went straight out about 400 plus yards but the good catching was closer to shore, sounds like we should have gone West like you did.

Thanks, just about time to fry them up! [ ] Reading all the reports and surfing cooking websites for something different to season them made me hungry.

Good to see you are alive and still in Utah, Pat.
I was just talking to Clayton about you.
My son and I will be heading up to PV in the morning.
Enjoy the Perch.
We need to get together and give Hyrum another try.

Nice job...we've been doing very well on PV mainly Crappie and where we're fishing also finding nice size Perch but Crappie is what we're finding weeding through the dinks there are some nice ones to be had...yep away from the crowds and shotgun ice...Sorry to hear you're hurting but as you know any day of great fishing for us old folks always dims the pain a bit...glad you had a nice and productive PV outing...hoping we can have that overdue outing soon on the hard deck maybe I can do the arm dive again for laughs...take care...[ ][ ]

If you needed today, then I'm glad you got it....... good on ya, fella...
Filleting can be an exercise. Proper knife/tools and a work surface at the correct height saves the back.

thanks for the report. Were you at Pineview Saturday or Sunday? I was there on Saturday the 4th, not as may people fishing the south side of Cemetery point as the week before, but there were a lot of people fishing the north side all the way over to Browning pt.
We fished the south side a little south and west of most of the crowd in 22 FOW, from 10:00 to 1:00 only caught six and didn't see many on the finder. Didn't look like anyone within view of us were doing very well.
Is there anyone out there that fished the northside of Cemetery point or Browning point on Saturday. I would be courious to know how it was on that side.

Met a couple BFTers on the south side of Browning Point today. Fishing was slow, although we all saw fish cruising by on our flashers. We caught a few perch and crappie (dinks) at 31 feet, and the cruising schools were at 20. By the time one could crank bait up from the bottom, the school would be about gone.
My first trip with a flasher. Got a Showdown Troller online. Awesome little machine, that.

I fished Sunday morning. South side and West 23 fow. North side and more towards Browning is my preferred area but it was pretty crowded.

I should have tried the South side today.
Don't know if it would have been any better but it couldn't have been much slower.
It was nice to meet you today Rocky.

I fished the north side of cemetary and caught a dozen perch all in the middle of the day. Just before dark caught a bugle mouth that took 20 minutes to land, thought I had a muskie[:/]
