Hit Montpelier on Sunday. The ice was good about 6" and the edges were not soft. Fishing was good as usual. We caught 1 coke, 1 brown, and 75+ perch. None of the perch had much size but they keep the kid from getting board.
There was only 2 other groups on the ice in the morning. In the afternoon it was just us, nice and quiet.

Nice report, thanks for sharing it with us. Was there any size to the koke, were you seeing many coming threw?
A friend and I were up in the Bear lake valley yesterday and were thinking about heading over to Montpelier to check it out but ended up fishing that pond in Garden city.

The coke was just over 12'. I caught it shortly after I moved to that hole. I didn't even set up my flasher and look for them because the perch were biting so much.
I did have 4 jawjackers set up about 10 feet down but just a couple of bites and no hook up on it. I was fishing on the bottom and it was a bonus fish. They are harder to catch when they are cruising the bottom because all the perch around.

It seems that lake goes in cycles. A couple of years ago, my son and his friend caught limits of kokes there but I haven't heard much about them since then. !2" is a good size for that place.
