I got a letter from them today, saying that someone hacked into their system and stole the private into, that you give when buying a fishing license in Idaho. They claim to be the company that collects of that info about you, including your SS#.[:/] I always thought it was the state of Idaho that took your info for your license. Have any of you received a letter like this from Action Outdoors?

I received one today also. I haven't noticed anything on my credit report yet and hope I don't.

Idaho, Washington, and Oregon's license servers were both hacked. Active Networks is the company that handles the license sales, and they are helping offer the identity protection. Here is the Idaho Fish and Game press release:https://idfg.idaho.gov/press/services-place-fish-and-game-license-buyers-potentially-affected-license-system-breach

I got a letter here also in utah yesterday but mine was from active outdoors and I've purchased a licence for here and a reciprocal stamp for flaming gorge WYO side.. Heading to Idaho next week so I hope they can pinpoint the problem really soon for everybody's sake. Sounds like a lot of state's are having the same problem witch is somehow linked together.

At the bottom of the letter is a personalized number and an 800 number for 2 years of free identity fraud insurance. Definitely take the time to enroll. There is no downside to this, and possibly much to gain. We discovered that we were possibly hacked both in Washington and Idaho.

What kind of info did you have to give them to enroll in the free identity fraud insurance?

Your name and email at least when I enrolled. I think if for some reason you aren't eligible, they will just deny the request for fraud protection.

Thats what I was hoping because it seems to me that they should already have any other info needed from your license info. Thanks

We were subject to the hack in all three states. Nothing looks fishy now but who knows what will happen in the future. Take advantage of the 2 free years - up to 1M in insurance and help to recover your credit.
