Pretty cool but most cell phones will last barely a couple hours in the cold especially when the screen is constantly on. I'll stick to my Marcum.

I got the Vexilar sonar phone this summer, it has a mapping feature that is supposed to map the lake contours for you with Navionics software, but I've been having problems with mine and haven't gotten it to work very consistently... The fish finder worked well on my float tube in the Wind Rivers for me, but I have to admit I prefer my Humminbird a whole bunch more than the sonar phone...So I haven't used it much since the big trip... It has it's place and I am building a box to take it ice fishing with me to watch the holes around me in case I'm sitting in the wrong location... But my unit has been broken twice and required being returned so I'm concerned about the quality of them, but the service department is sure great!!! I think I got a lemon and should have sent both parts back at first, instead I sent the box and now I have a transducer issue, so I think that one had been returned and was a piece of junk.. I hope the new transducer will fix it up so it works well... But the batteries seemed to hold fine in both the unit and the phone to fish about 5 or 6 hours, but it was summer... Screens are smallish, but it will work on the ipad so I should take that... Anyway I wouldn't get this as my only unit, however, it is nice for some uses like light weight trips... Just my thoughts on this type finder... Later J
