Planer boards/what i learned
#1
Got my new planers boards last week,so i headed to the gorge on sunday to try them, and heres what i learned.
1-First of all i must be a slow learner ,because it took me longer then ten minutes.

2-It is possible to get your planer board to close to the shore, run it into the rocks ,and lose your lure.

3-Planer boards like a certain speed,to slow and they wont track right,to fast and they are just getting pulled along and they wont track right.

4-Planer boards dont like big popgear,i had to try this just to see what would happen. To much drag on the board, the front was out of the water and it didnt track very well.

5- Planer boards have their place, they aren't the end all be all,of the four fish i caught, two was off the planers, two was just from long lining with out the boards. All in all it was fun to experment with them ,and i do see where they will be handy to use when the conditions warrent them.
ok now for the fishing four nice fat rainbows fell prey to my wiley ways all were fat ,three were female, all were released to fight another day.
Water temps are about 37 degs, and the lake appears to be up from this time last year, and thats always good news.
