There's actually a good discussion going on over there about this. I'm a catch and release guy for the purpose of letting the big ones go. I also don't keep the under 15" fish, I don't eat fish, so why should I keep 'em.
I do think in the case of the Provo River, and many others, fish should be harvested for overpolutation purposes. Unfortunately at one time, and to an extent it still is, considered evil for flyfishers to keep fish. Kind of stupid if you ask me, but as I've witnessed friends and family take home a load of fish just to sit in the freezer, if they are going to waste why not just leave them. This is where I think the C&R mentality came in.
I think things will change in the flyfishing community in regards to keeping fish, lets just hope this flyfisher can figure out how to do it.
