Well, I don't fish for LM much any more and it showed today. I fished the river in the Soddy Creek area from 7-12. I started out fishing topwater for an hour - nada. Probably too late and not near deep enough water. Then I fished a bar that dropped off into the river channel with plastic worms. I caught 4 LM and lost several. 2 fish bit the worm off right at the hook. I hooked what felt like a real good fish, the fish got off and I came up with a lot of slime on my line - we know what that means. At one time I saw 3 bass boats fishing the same pattern not too far from me. The bite died and I fished a creek channel where I used to slay them with plastic grubs this time of year - nada. I finished the morning throwing plastic worms at deep docks and blowdowns - nada. Maybe this post will help people know where not to fish for bass right now. Water temp this morning was about 80. No fish kept.
