If you are close enough for the fish to see the glissen of light off your reel, you are too close and have already spooked them.
Seriously, the finish on your rod, the guides (specially the tip tops), and just because they are black, they are a high gloss finish.

I have had this discussion before as you can tell. I wear a bright pink shirt, and yellow baseball cap, the trick is to crawl at times, and if you can see your reflection in the water...so can the fish.
