lake powell and striper fishing

taking wife and grandkids to grand canyon for few days. Then back up to page, arizona , and try my luck on the stripers.Is this time of year even good for stripers? Any body have any ideas on where the stripers are this time of year? I have heard they are very agressive and fight unlike any other fish. Any truth to that? Any tips for rookies would be appreciated.
