Lower Provo this Saturday (Winter fishing tips anyone?)
#1
Hey all. I have had a fly rod and equipment for a few years now but never had the time ( school ) to really get serious about it. I bought some waters this summer and have started getting out in the rivers and streams.

I have really only used Dries to this point but I know that dries or only a fraction of the diet of the fish. I want to be able to consistently catch fish all year long.

I am especially excited for this winter now that I have most of the gear to be somewhat serious about it.

I plan to hit the lower provo these next two weekends or so. Do you have any tips on flies I should stock up on? Techniques I should key in on?

I have read on other threads that the Browns are getting more aggressive ( because of the Spawn??. So I would think this would be a good time for Streamers. What patterns should i key in on?

I went Last weekend and some luck with an Elk Hair Caddis. Caught 4 fish in about 1.5 hours. I would have caught more but my reaction time was a little slow seeing it has been a while since I have been on the river with the fly.

Any advice or tips would be well appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
