Avery and I fished in the slush Sunday with his grandma. We drove around the lake waiting for the rain to stop and finally ended up at Poison Creek. We fished about 30 yards off the ramp. It was slow. One 25" trout and a few 8-10" perch in 3 hours. One guy out north of us came in and said he caught enough for dinner but it took all day. Big group straight out from us only managed a few small perch. By Monday morning the slush had refroze. Fish 100 yards out off the Sugarloaf ramp and got skunked. 3 hours, 15 poles, 45 holes and only one bite. Ice was 4-5" at SL but top inch is crap. I could bounce up and down and make the water slosh in the holes and even got the ice to crack in some areas. But there was a parks guy checking out the campgrounds on his sled. Said he has been all over the lake with no problems. Also watched 2 wheelers head to the island but we could hear the ice popping in front of them as the went by. Glad we left our wheeler at home. It was good fun fishing with mom!!!
