Not a purist, but I do think that a responsible angler should never leave them rotting on the bank, if the land owner in inkom wanted the sucker kept for his field to fertilizer then no problem because he would have ran them with his disc blade and turned them under, I've had land owners ask me to throw them in their field in Inkom before so they could turn them. But if you are just trying to kill them off than the least you could do is gill them, puncture the air bladder and let them sink to the bottom of the water. That way they feed other aquatic life, and they do not make a horrible smell. Many are guilty of tossing fish on the bank I am but I have learned that it is not right . And in fact is not legal on public grounds..
