I think the water managers of Island park dam are draining IP res. just for spite. The great feeder canel on the south fork has been shut down for the season. Yet the farmers getting water from the HF have the nozzels going full blast still. Why do already harvested and plowed under grain fields still need water????????? I've been to 18 consecutive Harriman ranch openers and remember several where the water flows have been steady for weeks leading up to the opener and then on opening day all of a sudden there is a need for more water, only to go back down to normal a day or 2 later. WTF?!?!?!?!
Why for the last 80 years during peak irrigation season the flows coming out of IP dam have been in the 800 to 900 CFS range, yet this year it was around 1700 all f-ing summer?!?!?!?! That does'nt even include the 2500 CFS period because of the morons at fall river electric. It's a crying A$$ shame whats becoming of the HF. I hope karma comes back to bite those responsible 10 fold.
And those fishing IP res. who seem not to have a care in the world because "the lower the water gets the better the fishing gets" don't think this isn't going to have a negitive impact on the resi too.
