Steelhead Numbers 16-17
#32
Fished the Clearwater for a day and a half and was prepared to stay for two and a half more with average fishing. I felt fortunate to land 3 Steelhead and missed a few but felt with the low water there were few fish in the river. Only saw one other boat, other than the fly fisherman had the river to ourselves as usual this time of year. Generally regardless of the run size according to my diaries need closer to 4000 cfs at peck to have many fish leave the lower granite pool, water was at around 2950. Only saw one boat from Riggins to Whitebird coming and going on the Salmon. It was the slowest I had seen it in recent memory but the two wild B-run the first thirty minutes late Tuesday evening made the trip worthwhile.
