I got out early Friday morning from 6:30am till 10:30 am. I wanted to beat the masses before they blasted off from the big Dayton tx and started showing up. Stopped at a grass mat just off the main river channel and started throwing a crankbait along the outside edges, ended up catching 3 LM just as the sun was coming up before the tx fishermen started showing up. Nothing to brag about only around 2lbs each. Ended up catching 6 LM all together with each one being around 2 lbs, barely keepers! The tx fishermen showed up about 20 - 30 minutes after daylight, there were a crap-load of boats running everywhere! All fish caught on crankbait and swimbait in about 4-10 fow. Hopefully the weather will continue to get colder to help the grass frog bite really turn on! The temp did feel good though for a change!
