I'm Burton and live in S.E. Boise. Retired Army pilot. Flew fixed and rotary wing; about 3500 hours. Now part time antiques and vintage firearms dealer. Hobbies and interests are Idaho Territorial documents, primarily mining. I have three major collections. I deal in U.S. Civil War, Indian Wars, Idaho militaria, etc. The research keeps my interest. Fishing is a lifelong love. Started fishing under the Richmond, CA pier for perch, the Alameda estuary, and then the Napa valley ponds through high school. I've fished most of California including the Sierras; some of Germany, Ireland, Washington state, Hawaii, and much of Idaho. Kokanee are my first priority now. Last two trips to Lucky Peak produced only one 15"er per trip. Nice, fat kokes that eat well. They are still very spotty; not schooled up yet. Water temp is around 40F and the lake is rising very rapidly which may be why they are so scattered.
Great forum. I like to share lake information, techniques, tackle, and everything about fishing. Good luck to all this season. I'm going to try and hit more Idaho lakes. I fish the main Boise below my house a few times a year.
