Mike and I got to the ramp, Earl and Larry were already there. So we were boat # 1 or #2. Earl signed us up as one. Thank you. Blasted to our first choice, and had our first fish within ten minutes, on a shakey head w/ watermelon worm. Mike lands a 4#+ within 20 minutes w/ a Senko. Not even 8, and fish in the box. Keep fishing, and Mike puts another keeper in the box, about 15.5". Moving down the same bank, Mike lands another decent keeper, about 4# on a jig. I am having fun as netman. At this point, I haven't seen another competitor it the same area as us. Looks like everyone ran someplace on the river. Decided to move , as we didn't have a sniff the rest of the way. Went to another place Mike and I fished Thursday. Nothing. Ran to the stumps at the back of CFP, secret place (?). Ran the bank and stumps, not even a sniff. Decided to go to another place in the river. Between the wind, current and muddy water, we stayed maybe ten minutes, and ran back to the park.. Ran same water again, and then went toward the river. Had a small flurry, caught a keeper that didn't help, and several short fish. At least we have some action. Those hit a Zoom tx rigged lizard. Went to another place Mike has had success over the years. We are both fishing jigs. Finally, about 1:30, Mike has another hookup. Bringing the fish in, I saw a flash, looked decent. Bulldogged under the boat, ran, pulled drag, under the boat again. Mike worked the fish out and I netted, the jig fell out just after I had the net under the fish. Culled our small keeper. Weighted our fish, 17.17#, plus our last was 7.05# BF. We thought we might have 14#. Guess we need to take our winnings to the optometrist for new glasses. Fished the park all day, except a short run on the river. Damage was done on a shakey head, Zoom lizard, Senko and a jig.<br />Thanks to the CFF committee for another good tournament. Congrats to all those who braved what was a cold, windy day.
