South of the knolls
#1
Went to a spot I know of for a few hours last night, ended up with 14 channel cats didnt measure any and forgot my bft catfish paper for photos so just cookers this time, perch meat and a 8/0 team catfish double trouble circle hook was the ticket, I prefer large hooks to not catch so many bull heads. Heres a picture of one, kept 3 for the fathers day fish fry! Good action hard hitters right on the edge of the frags, was about chest deep as I had to wade out to get to fishable water

Nice fish. I've fished that area before but always from boat via Lincoln. I thought all of that land south of the Knolls was posted with no water access? Is there a road that would allow kayak launching in that area? The high water this year is making that are a little more fishable. I'd like to put in a night shift over that way some time.

No problem if it is a "special" spot you want to protect a bit.

Again, nice fish and I hope you enjoy them for your Daddy's Day fish fry. [Smile]

[#0000FF]Most of that area is still fenced off and off limits to the public. However, If you are coming around the back way to the Knolls you will see a road turnoff at mile marker 13. That is the site of the old Mosida farms. You can drive down a dirt road to a fence and go across to access the lake. Good for yaks. No so much for small boats or tubes with electric motors. Can be good fishing and definitely not overworked.[/#0000FF]

Same spot tubedude is talking about, sometimes it's good sometimes it's not, the bad part is your out in the weeds so the mosquitoes can be pretty extreme and I see alot of the mexican farm workers down there fishing so its definitely getting more pressure than ya think.
