Sounds like you may have gotten a fish worth $10,000- at very least put you on the board. I don’t think people fish this tournament for quanity or quality just $$$

We fished Knight Hollow during the morning on MLK day and did OK on small rainbows. That must have been you getting there and setting up as we were leaving.

That's a good day during the tournament. One fish usually wins you a prize. Is there much snow on the Ice and around that area?

Fishing is generally not fast and furious at these tournaments, but that's not really the point. The tournament they put on last week in Colorado had over 300 fish caught. Last year at Starvation, I can't remember the exact number, but I believe there were 20-30 fish caught and the year before I believe less than 5. The point is, that there's a really good chance you'll get an awesome prize for any fish caught (even the 30th place prize is valued at $150).
I can't wait! It's by far my favorite tournament each year! Plus the guys who put it on, Tightline Outdoors, have a great crew. They want to see people having fun and winning prizes! Otherwise, why would they go through all the work? [signature]

There was small patches of snow on the ice. For the most part there was none. Take your cleats, it was slippery in most spots.

Good info, thanks. Last weekend at Boyd was the slickest ice I’ve ever been on. Luckily I packed my cleats. I saw at least 5 people go down. I may not make it back up after a spill like they took.
