Scofield Ice Fishing

I know there was another thread on Scofield, but has anyone actually been up there fising lately. Is the ice still fishable?

[cool]Fishdude, Scofield doesn't get icefished a lot during the tale end of ice season like the 'berry does (thus, not many reports here on BFT about it). Hopefully this will satisfy your curiosity:

SCOFIELD RESERVOIR - Todd Munford reports that the best fishing occurs in 6–10 feet of water with garlic or shrimp salmon eggs above a split shot dropper. Aquatics biologists Justin Hart and Craig Walker performed creel surveys last weekend. Fishing was "slow and steady." Most anglers were using small jigs or spoons tipped with worms, meal worms, wax worms or PowerBait. One party, which caught a large number of rainbow trout, used glo bugs on a dropper rig. Glo bugs were dipped in egg juice from a fish that was harvested a week earlier. Egg sacs may be even more productive than the glo bugs. Sergeant Carl Gramlich recommends that anglers move around if one spot doesn't seem to produce fish. Reservoir edges are getting soft, even though there is still plenty of safe ice. Ice- off may occur in a few weeks, depending on daily temperatures.

Thanks a lot for the info. My brother in law wanted to get one more trip in this season, so we will probably try it tomorrow. Sounds like I need to throw in the plank so I don't have to do the flying Wilma to get off the ice like I did last year!
