Starvation
#1
Haven't been on the site for a while had a computer glich I guess. Fished Starvation a few days ago and had a blast with the walleye and perch. Between two of us we caught 30 to 40 walleye in the 12 to 18 in. range and a dozen or so perch going from 10 to 13 inches. We fished with 1/8 oz. jigs tipped with crawlers in 10 to 15 feet of water with a very slow retrieve bouncing the bottom. Not too many water skiers which made the fishing great. Hope to make a second trip back in a couple weeks.

That was actually a couple days worth, so it really wasn't all that hot, but it was my first shot at any walleye this year so I was happy. They weren't large but healthy fish and made for some fine eating. I think they have a benifit tourney coming up on the 23rd so I'm sure they will get hammered for a few days before and after.

Silly Packfan, there you go blaming the computer again! Nice report. Those sound like some pretty decent eyes coming out of Starvation.

Thanks for posting your report Pete, sounds like some decent size perch and eyes. Did you make it over to Pelican? When your computer went down did you also loose you BFT password to log in?

Yes I did I guess, That's why I had to register as PACKFAN1 and become a new member again. I changed internet providers and I couldn't remember my old password so I had to start from scratch. I've asked one of the moderators to see if there is a way I can recover my old BFT name as well as my picture of Favre. I have been reading the posts but haven't been able to participate, glad to be back. My fishing has been cut way short with the new program I'm in at work and the Training/TDYS.

Sounds like a very pleasant outing. I fell in love with that reservoir last season, and we ended up there a half dozen times or more. We're heading over there this weekend with the kids for the first time this year, and looking forward to it. Last year we spent a lot of time in Bunny Gulch, and Sal*^%$# wash and did very well with the perch. Daniel, our 10 year old, landed a couple small walleye and the lunker perch attached below our first trip there.

Any recommendations on tackle types, methods, and places to drop a line this time of year for the walleye? I'm still working on landing my first one, after 6+ trips out, and Mr. Dan is kicking my #$%. I'm looking to even the score and possibly break ahead this year with a little luck, and hopefully some better skills. Any constructive advise will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Glenn

we're thinking of hitting starvation on thursday and wondered if you would tell us where on the lake you fished? It would be nice to have a starting point. Thanks

Hey, why are you putting work ahead of fishing? That's not what you taught me[sly]LOL. And you should be coasting downhill into retirement, not training on new stuff and travelling. What kinda example are you trying to set for me[Wink]????

Sorry I didn't get back sooner guys, just ask anyone down there where the tunnel is, that's most likely where most of the boats will be and that's where we found the eyes. Several good points that run out into the lake on that end along with good shoreline structure. Good luck, I'll be headed back the 28th. Going to try for some Kokes on Porcupine this weekend.[cool]
