My first trip
#1
Once I decided I would like to try fly fishing I couldn't wait to give it a go. I stopped at Sportsman's in Provo on the long trip home and got the bare essentials, thanks for all the advice by the way. I got a 9' 5wt Redington rod, an Okuma reel, floating line (which they put on thank goodness), leaders and some Pline fluorocarbon for tippet. I headed up to a little creek that is only about 5 minutes from my house to give the new outfit a try. I had no idea how to cast so I followed the instructions that richyd4u posted. It worked really well. I caught 4 small browns in about 45 minutes and missed many more. I'm not so good at staying in contact with the fly just yet, lots of slack line. Thanks for all the pointers. I just grabbed a couple of flies out of a really old fly box that was my grandfathers. Does anyone know what kind of fly it is?

But I am on a Mac Book so my screen isn't that big.
