#1
Has anyone been to Crittenden Lake in Montello Nevada? It is North of Wells Nevada and is private, $15 a day I have been told?

Sounds like some kind of fish club. Sometimes fish clubs want you to be active in club activities and so on. Also They Have there own set limits on size and creel so you should look into that if you plan on keeping anything. It could just be one of those clubs that let you pay and dont want you to do anything or you could also look into it to see if its cheaper to just sign up for the year vs. a daily thing. I know it didnt help you with much of your questions but usually clubs have some of the nicest fish around.[Smile]

I have been there once but I was with a friend who had permission to fish there. I wasn't really that impressed because he out fished me [crazy]. We caught a lot of lmb's under 15" but my buddy was the only one to score a nice one, 19 1/2" +-if I remember right. The water temp was around 78* first thing in the morning and that was when the fishing was best. I tried finding a deep area to fish and found it at the dam. I marked fish all along the dam and my buddy hooked a fat cut-bow but I got nuthin' There are supposed to be some good trout and bass in there but I've only fished it the one time about....7 years ago I think. I'll see if I can find the pics.

Seems like alot of Big Bass lakes have good trout in them. Do the lures that look like baby trout work good in areas like that?

I think of trout as slimer snacks for large bass. I've caught some nice bass on swimbaits that look like little rainbow trout.
