Went to the View this morning got there about 7:30.North side Cemetery in 44 ft. Bait: wax worms and earth worms(the ones wal mart sells as trout worms). lots of crappie early nice schools marking on the sonar.bite was on. drop the jig into the school slowly raise it and fish on. then at about 10 or 11 all went dead . able to hook a few perch but they were few and far between.
Gary Winterton of hooked on Utah was there shooting a show. He came over to see how I was doing told him and showed him what I had. he said there were doing about the same.

I was up there Thursday west off browning point and had the same luck. Just can't seem to find any perch or crappie of decent size. One here and there but nothing consistant for sure.

Thanks for the report. Sounds like you got out there at the right time.
So don't take this wrong - but you either caught some BIG perch, or lotsa med-small Crappie. Haven't heard of many bigguns coming up. Sure would like to get on some-a-them slabs myself! Nice collection!
Curious - how deep did you find the schools? Were they on the bottom? And you weren't dancing the jig around, just drop and raise? Sounds like some good action.
Are the edges holding up good? We got SO cold, but then warmed up! Darnit!
Thanks for the report.

lol. They were small crappie Coyote. whis I could find the slabs .
all the fish were about 7 1/2 "ers
tried to send the first few back but they just swam around in the hole. wouldnt think coming up from 44 feet would bother them . So I just started keeping them. The sonar showed fish from the botom up to 40'. I use a Lowrance X67C [/b]. I use the graph since I just dont know how to read the flasher on it. Edges are solid
