Since the "vise porn" thread ended up so interesting, I figure why not show off the whole box? I love peeking into others' fly boxes. Even my own, makes the head spin. I love it when they're full, and even organized, ready to fish. I like the patches at the end of the season too, with all the flies stuck all over the place, mostly chewed up. I don't have as many these days as I used to ridiculously have.
For trout, there's one for terrestrials/attractors, one for the Missouri River, one for PMD's, one for caddis and stones, one with little tiny bugs I can hardly see, and the assorted odd boxes of "other stuff", seasonal flies, one-river flies, old rejects, and flies I'd likely never tie on even though they'd work. I have way more of those than I do "working" flies. I usually only carry two or three small boxes at most, but the rest are always with me in the truck or trailer.
I only "need" one tarpon box. This one is ready to be flown south, and its contents roughed up and covered with tarpon slime! SOON. Very soon. Not soon enough. Saturday!
Stay warm amigos.

Cool Idea! I'll have to grab the camera and snap a few shots when I get 2 seconds.

Looks like I know what I'm going too be doing this year. Finally get the gear to make some flies.
Good luck with the Tarpons. I remember when I went too Florida and saw some of those monsters.
I hate ells and barracudas. They always take my MULLETS [mad]

Wow, your boxes are neat and tidy. Mine are a jumble that I don't dare open in a good wind!
Good luck and have fun in the sun!

Mine too! I like the little plastic chamber boxes instead of the foam. And Orvis has a rust proof box that I can honestly say, works. I throw my wet flies in it and no rust.
My hubby has that Bugger Barn as well. Those things are huge and really not hard to keep clean, in my opinion. I think if I had one, I could (maybe) look organized LOL

[sly]They're only that way at the beginning of the season, or in this case, before a trip. I rarely put a fly back in the box though. After use, it goes on a patch, to be used until its useless.
Here's a favorite trout box I filled last month. All I need for July on the MO. But, I could fish with this one just about all year, everywhere.

My main problem is I cram the flies in too close, then when I pull one out five others pop loose.
I love those foam magnet boxes they are so light. I should probably buy a couple more and spread my flies out ..... [crazy]
I do use some plastic pill boxes for my midges and nymphs. They are actually weekly "pill reminder" boxes. There are seven chambers to a "stick". The package for a dollar had about five sticks in it. I now wish I had picked up more. They are quite handy. I even used a couple for bead heads in the tying stuff.

I use one of those weekly/daily pill containers for my hooks instead of clumsy packages and odd sized boxes. All my hooks from size 8-20 in one 7-compartment little "stick." I only use one style of hook, but if you use different styles, you can use different sticks, or a two-row container like I have. I can put some Advil in the empty ones!

That is another good use.
I lied about mine though. The sticks are only four compartments. Morning, Noon, Evening and Bedtime!
My memory needs a rebuild! [blush] [laugh] [laugh]
Here are a couple of pictures of my messes. Actually the dry box is better than my usual on the stream jumble, but it still hasn't been straightened...
Sorry, they are a little out of focus, but you get the idea.

Have a good trip Jim. Hope it's not too much of a shock going from -10 degrees in the morning at home to 90 degrees in the afternoon after arrival. I'm jealous. I'm just hoping to make it to southern Utah and some 50 degree weather this weekend.
Post up a couple pics of those baby tarpon if you get a chance. Got to love a fish that the babies are up to 40 lbs.

Lordy, I have the larger boxes for my streamers as well, but I have one for buggers, one for rabbit, one for softhackle, one for hair and they all overflow. What can I say, I am the tier[ ]
I could fill three Bugger Barns easy. No I don't use them all in one trip, but I have used them all at one time.
Smaller flies and nymphs I like I have the same way. One for Pupas, Scuds/sows, Chironomids, nymphs, softhackles, emergers, CDC dries, hair dries, feather dries, foam, etc.
The is a method to my madness as I am able to find the fly of choice [laugh]

Sounds like a good day FG, me, personally would rather be in shorts casting from the front of a skiff in 80 degree weather to some willing Bones' or Tarpon.
