Cascade report.
#1
Fished Cascade Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Thursday was my wife and I. I had 5 rods out for about 2.5 hours and then I went and got my wife and me moved to a new location where we set up camp with 10 rods for about 4 hours. We got 12 perch and threw back4 trout. The average perch was about 12 inches with 2 of them coming in at just over 15 inches. Friday I fished by myself with 5 rods for about 3 hours and got 10 perch (0 trout). Saturday was terrible. We fished 4 people with 10 rods for 3 hours and we got 4 perch.

Ice was good, but there was snow on top of the ice Friday and Saturday.

We left today without going on the ice, but it looked like a slush-fest. It rained most of the night and a good part of the morning. It will take a few days of cold nights to firm the ice back up and make the slush go away. Here is a picture of Friday's catch. The biggest one in the middle was just over 15.

Nice! I can't wait to get after some decent perch. Might be a while longer until I get over there. Things just keep coming up in my schedule.

We are going Wednesday night. We will fish all day Thursday and Friday. I hope that slush freezes. It will make it more enjoyable. Good report thanks.

Avery and I fished in the slush Sunday with his grandma. We drove around the lake waiting for the rain to stop and finally ended up at Poison Creek. We fished about 30 yards off the ramp. It was slow. One 25" trout and a few 8-10" perch in 3 hours. One guy out north of us came in and said he caught enough for dinner but it took all day. Big group straight out from us only managed a few small perch. By Monday morning the slush had refroze. Fish 100 yards out off the Sugarloaf ramp and got skunked. 3 hours, 15 poles, 45 holes and only one bite. Ice was 4-5" at SL but top inch is crap. I could bounce up and down and make the water slosh in the holes and even got the ice to crack in some areas. But there was a parks guy checking out the campgrounds on his sled. Said he has been all over the lake with no problems. Also watched 2 wheelers head to the island but we could hear the ice popping in front of them as the went by. Glad we left our wheeler at home. It was good fun fishing with mom!!!

Too bad the perch bite wasn't better, but a 25" trout is an awesome catch.

I'll sell it to you Hook! Actually the fillets are marinating right now for my birthday dinner tonight. Along with some great roe for Ikura. Can't wait.
Figured she was a good 5# and 25" but thats just a guess. My pac boots are 24" standing heel to toe and she was a good inch past that. Got a shitty phone pic that doesn't do me or the fish any justice lol.
