The last I heard was on the 11th, and it was still iced up. It may have partially opened in the mean time, but it's pretty danged cold up here now with highs in the mid 30s to low 40s for the next week or two. Last night dipped into the upper teens and the sloughs out by Cutler iced back over. Of course it was nice weather most of the month, but seeing as I have Thursday and next Monday off, it had to go and get cold and snowy again [mad]

I don't fish lake, but I think it would be open. Deep Creek yesterday was 100% ice free.

Nice. I just I should have read over my post before submitting. Makes me sound like I didn't finish 1st grade.

It may be, but I remember fishing Deep Creek in my float tube one year, totally open water around 50° in the bay I was fishing, and when I checked Weston later that day it was mostly covered still. Another time I started at Weston because there was a little open water at the inlet end. It was super cold and muddy so I went to Deep Creek and it was totally open. Weston is higher in elevation and is more in the canyon, so it doesn't get as much sun. I think it will be a while before the bass get going up there in any case, especially with the cold weather forecast for the next two weeks.

Weston doesn't get the sun that deepcreek gets. the warm weather we had after the November freeze, that left all the other res. open still left Weston with a thin cover of ice. but if I had to bet it would be open.

Did a drive by on Weston. Still has ice on it. Except on the North West end.. Some spots are clear. Not, many.
