Early Season Smallies at Massacre Rock
#1
Is it to early to go? Does jigging tubes or grubs work early? A drop shot worm may be the ticket. Any news would be appreciated.

I don't have any current information. I like it when it gets to 46 degrees. I like tubes.

I went out and caught over 50 smallies on a trip to a water much colder than the one you are talking about. Go out and hit them!

Sometimes they like a smaller or slower presentation right now but they are definitely eating well right now.

Caught over 30 on cranks, water temp is 45. Good luck! Not one rat, all were 2 lb+ fatties. CPR

No rhyme nor reason to it, the only common was red. Rattle traps, shad raps and jerks. We covered lots of water. The guys upstream were catching trout. Not much luck with plastics.

After sturgeon fishing I might give it a try.
