Slipped away from work for about an hour, and ran down and tried Deer Creek. There was a good 5-6 inches of ice. I had 5 small hits and landed only one 14" rainbow. Didn't see anyone else doing any better. Pretty slow from what everyone was saying.

Thanks for the 45 minute report - what time of day did you hit the ice?
And what part of the lake did you go? Island /State Park/Dam??
I hope to try the Deer Creek Hard water this weekend and am looking for that "eye" of opportunity.
Thanks Again and Hope your Hard Water Adventures Return Grand Results.

I fished from 9:45 until 10:30. I was fishing across the bay from the island. Castmaster with a rat finkie 18" beneath it.
Good luck when you go.
