SE Idaho ice conditions
#1
Crowthers reservoir is 95% iced up but still not safe to fish. Word has it Daniels reservoir has 4-5 inches of good ice. Deep Creek has ice but haven't seen anyone on it assume it's still unsafe. Devils Creek is on my list to check still unless someone has info on it already. Hawkins has 5 inches of ice and chesterfield had 4 inches on Sunday according to one of my friends who fished it with success.

To add to it, 11/23 Blackfoot had a solid 4 inches of good clear hard ice on it at the dam. With the cold temps you guys have had I am guessing its more in the 8-9 inch range by now.

Chesty had a good 5-6 inches on it. Treasureton had a lot of people on it. With my experience with Daniels... it is usually the same as Chesty, but people like to be tight lipped about it. I may find out next weekend. [laugh] I iced over a dozen and took home my one for dinner. Lost a few at the hole, but no big deal...I was having plenty of action. It died off around noon thirty. I left at 2. Beautiful day.[fishon]

Daniels is right at 6 inches. Looks like I'll be hitting the ice this week

I'm hoping to get out there too this weekend. Hopefully the ice holds up through the rain. Hope to hear some reports through the week before I trek up from cache valley.

Awesome, hopefully I'll bump into you out on the ice! This rain and warm up really hurt ice I am guessing. Give me a shout if your ever in need of a ice fishing buddy, I love to get out.

Devil Creek is ice free again as well as crowthers. The edges of Daniels are mushy. This rain messed up the ice bad. Be careful if you go out I'll be waiting for it to get below zero before heading out. Hope it doesn't affect the tournament at devils in January

I'd assume it's edges are mushy too. It rained all day Tuesday here in idaho. And with the warm temps I'm sure that the ice isn't in great shape

Thanks for the quick response. Quick follow up question, did you fish Daniels after the rain. If so, how thick was the ice.

Steelie its been raining here all day. My assumption is that any ice is now unsafe. We need a good solid week or two of below freezing weather for it to be good ice to fish on.

Hit crowthers today its iced over but very unsafe. I drilled 3 holes by the dock its about 2 inches thick and the edges are way mushy. Need some real cold weather to get it nice and thick.
