I'm targeting panfish mostly. But if trout are there too I like to catch a few.

Fished it today and caught 12 trout, 15 perch and a large mouth. We were on the south lake using meal worms and ice flies for the perch and tube jigs for the trout. The trout were a few feet under the ice later on in the day. The perch would only bite if you were moving the pole. Make sure you secure your pole... haha had a huge bite that took one of my poles under. There are a few big trout in those lakes. We were in about 17 feet of water. PM me if you want more details

Most of the perch were filetable and the trout were about 16 inches and fat. Caught a few larger trout.

Thinking about hitting Twin Lakes this weekend. How thick is the ice? Was thinking about bringing my 4-wheeler.

Thanks

Just from what I've read and been told is look for about 20 feet of water and weeds.

Fished 6 hours today , landed 3 12" planters . Started near the pay post fishing from 10 to 16 ' of water . Then moved to the south lake and fished the north end of the dam . Punched several holes, everywhere I drilled I was in 10 ' of water . Then I moved to the center of the south lake 18 to 20' of water . I caught 1 fish at each location . The south lake has some big slush pockets , hard going with an atv . Talked to several groups . No one catching anything but planter trout . Talked to one couple that lives near by . They said they caught a bunch of crappie two days ago . I won't be going back this year . Heading for Mackay Tuesday .

Although slushy on south lake, how thick was the ice? Still safe for a 4-wheeler I'm assuming.
