Good fishin' for cats at Lincoln today. Water temp was 51 when I arrived at about 6 a.m. and warmed to 53 at 11:00.
Started at Bird Island and did well on carp meat but could not break out of the 22-24 inch crowd. Moved back by the BS inlet and pick up a few more... best one was 26 incher. Nice calm seas and warm weather. A few bank tanglers along the launch channel and two other boats.
Need to get the water temps back up near 60... might do it with a good week.

its tough to me up with you when you go in the morning and I go at night, the water is still cool but those cats must be hungry, there was a bunch in front of the orchards last night, was there any eyes rolling out to the island.

I know everyone thinks my board is an over kill for width, but those big cats have wide splines and to fit you need a 10" wide board sometimes... They don't tend to bend those sticky suckers in to their sides very well.. I look forward to seeing that new bump board special... Hey maybe you can laminate your label on the side of it... Past contests allowed a BFT sticker with your name and year on the sticker... I'd let that float again... if you want... Later J.... Thinking of trying the same thing because I keep having issues getting my label in my correct tackle bag that I take with me... Must be old age catching up to me... Forgot my net and headlight last night... Shut me down early and made it tough to land a fish without the net... J

MSM-- I did not see anything rolling at the island except a few carp. I didn't even know the wallys rolled on the surface. I've got Tube Dude lined up to share some of his wally knowledge with me in a couple of weeks.... who knows, I may ketch one myself.
Maybe I need to use curly tails while fishin' for cats and I might snag a wally???
I plan to try the orchard area in the morning. Will report.
