NOt so good day at Soldier Creek
#1
Took some Kids we had a hard time catching Kokes
we had the boat in the water it was pretty dark
the boat got turned around while I was seting up the down riggers
so took me about 20 min to get to where I wanted to fish (lost Time)
On the way got 2 big cuts, put them back, then we got a big koke
and my wife put it back in the water. I ask her why and told her we would not get any more.
with that one we only got 9 kokes
what was working Wed was not working Today
so had to keep changing set ups
one thing that worked was a 8" flasher with a pink squid with a 18" leader.
water temp. so you can see where the kokes were at.
Top water was 65 deg
down 25 feet 65.1
down 35 feet 58.9
down 40 feet 53.9
down 45 feet 51.6
down 50 feet 48.7
down 55 feet 47.3
down 60 feet 46.2
we stoped fishing at 10 am and let the kids drive the boat
they don't get to do this a lot

I will trade your not so good day for the day that I had.

Got called into work for the afternoon to get half drowned with boiler water and shock by one of the furnaces that crapped out just as I was getting ready to go home.

Nice mess of fish though.

What part of the trip was not so good?
I'd take a day like that anyday 👍

Isn't it strange how you can go one day and have fish one after another then a day or two later you really work for them. Looks like you still did well. In the photo, I notice one of them was getting really red. I am sure the kids had fun.

Nice report as always . What water temps do the kokanee prefer exactly? I'm looking for revenge. I got skunked last trip and i worked them over with depth and setup changes. Thanks.

Good work Robert. I would not call that "Not so good"
Looks like a fun good day to me. I am very surprised how much they have changed already. I am sure when we go to the Gorge on Thursday we will catch some pinks as well. I hope they still taste good.
