Fishing has been quite good for two weeks around Yankee Fork. Expect water below to raise up over 1000 cfs by the weekend with the warm temperatures and especially nighttime lows around freezing and a lot of moisture. Water is never too high above basin creek for steelhead fishing but it is likely water may be too high below Yankee Fork by Saturday if it shakes out like I expect with current forcasts. Snow levils and low water makes fishing still pretty slow just below Sawtooth Hachery but that will improve with the higher forcasted temperatures.

Just a comment about the smolt releases a friend was just below Dworchak early last week when they released the smolts mid morning and said it was a feeding frenzy as hundreds of Sea Gulls devoured the smolts by the thousands. Really stupid to release smolts during daylight hours with tens of thousands being gobbled up every day in that area. Typical government workers and lack thought by the fish and game. This should never happen in an area with so many birds like Dworchak. Same thing happens on many resevoirs in the spring summer and fall. A call to sportsman who could patrol waters with a shotgun to scare off the birds would be heeded every time.
