Cutler 6-23-18

I met up with BBlake and Lava today and we gave the cats on Cutler a chance to bite our hooks and well the other two hammered the fish all day. Me not so much. I got two fish and one was a beat up one eyed cripple male with a big head and it almost looked as bad as a Utah lake cat.

Nice to fish with you two, sorry I didn't get us on better sized fish. We tried five different spots and got fish in every spot, just not big fish. Britton and Derek filled my carp supply for me. The one carp a 7lb whopper nearly took Britton way into the backing before he mastered the monster on an ultra light pole. Nice job on that fish!!! We ended up with a 23 and 24" channels, four or five carp, bunch of mudcats and ton of small channels. Fun trip. Thanks for the company. We'll have to do it again sometime. Later J

That was sure fun being out in your boat with good company and willing kitties to play. Your big cat was fun to net, Jeff. Good to meet a future national guard man what a great kid.

Derek, I would love to join you and Jeff up there sometime. Maybe Jeff can show me how guys in boats bigger than mine get from Benson Marina up the west side going at full throttle without slamming into a submerged island or sand / mud bar. Last week when wife and I were up there I couldn't find and water deeper than 2.5 - 3.0 feet except the hole near the highway bridge. I would love to be able to map that on my GPS. Oh, would love to catch some fish too............[]
