What is the “triangle” at Strawberry?
#1
I see a lot of posts regarding the triangle at Strawberry, especially in reference to catching kokes. Can someone explain the triangle to me? I see it referenced in a ton of posts so I assume I’m not asking for top secret information. I’ve fished the berry over 200 times, mostly targeting cutts and bows, but I still don’t know what the triangle is referencing.

Don’t try to find it!! It is all a hoax to get you to go to the middle of the lake where there is nothing. . .

There are a lot of definitions for the triangle! In general, if you draw a line between the following points you will be in the triangle (1) Haws point, (2) the old dam site on the east, (3) the ladders. Then fish the southern 2/3's of that triangle you will be in the fish. However, the fish seem to be caught closer to the marina (more western than the triangle definition) this year.

Having said this, I have caught Kokanee in every corner of the main body of the reservoir and all throughout the middle. You just need to find them! As a general rule look for the flotilla of boats, generally they are onto the schools. Sometimes it can be a little like combat fishing.
