Just got back from a trip to see family in Idaho.Last Wed and Thursday we went to Anderson ranch reservoir for an over night trip with some salmon fishing in the morning.got three at 5 pm got set up and while the kids went swimming I went and did some fly fishing seeing the river was right there.I thought it we a shallow river but I was way wrong.at first it was only admit ankle to knee deep but as I got a little father up steam I found out that it's allot deeper.then I remember my phone and keys were in my pocket and I wasn't wearing my waders.after a little hike I found a great hole.landed 6 fish.2 bows,1 white fish, and 3 northern pike minnow.those pike put up a fight.I have been fly fishing now for 15 yrs and even the 26"brown that I caught never took me to my backing but those pike took my to and in my backing with ease.the next day I was up at 5 am and everyone was to meet at the boat at 630.I made my coffee went outside and as I was enjoying my coffee and the piece I could smell something so I ran back to the trailer got my flashlight sell I could see where it as but lucky never saw the skunk but I could smell it.got on the lake by 7 and was off by 2.allot out other boats but we didn't see many ppl catching but for us we couldn't keep them off.ended the day with 37 salmon and moist admit another 30.great time for a first time fishing in Idaho and for salmon.got home on Sunday and smoked 6 fillets.2 normal,2 with honey and 2 with maple and maple was everyone's fav.
