A Routine Garbage Pickup
#1
This is an incident that happened earlier this week in California that hospitalized a young man that I have known from the day he was born. The mother of this guy has been in contact with us for a very long time and informed us of this incident when it occured. He is a county driver of a garbage truck doing a routine route pickup when fumes & smoke inhalation became dangerous putting him in the hospital for an over night stay. He was released the next day and returned to work. This is a good reminder to us all on how we should handle & dispose of HAZMAT Material properly. Investigation is looking into of where material came from. A Lithium battery was pinpointed but other batteries such as for ATV vehicles were also in the trash. While this happened in another state I'm sure our recycling centers here have there own stories to tell.

Wow, who would have thought that a small battery would cause so much harm.
