#1
Hello All,
Here I am describing a New York grown tactic for deep water trolling.

Interesting video Pete, I see you are using a trolling plate instead of a gas trolling motor, is there a reason for that? I've always heard that is hard on your main motor, trolling it that slow for long periods of time. Also how is this method different than stacking lines on a downrigger? I guess it does not happen too often but what happens when you get more than one fish on at same time.

I had a kicker motor until the cheap Chineese 5 horse I bought died after a lousey 6 seasons! I'll probably replace it sometime.
The Seth green is way better for bottom bouncing than a dwnrigger. Less chance of snagging and less costly if you do. And it's easier to deploy than a downrigger. I have a bad back and hate bending over the transom. My downriggers are hand crank and if they are biting good you wear yourself out.

Sorry to hear about you kicker going down. One of the best used motors I've ever had was a 4hp mercury, I had several over the year and even used, I got a lot of trolling time in with them.
I understand what you are saying about the Seth Green method being less costly and as long as it works well for you then that is all that matters.
I will say I enjoyed watching your video, what kind of camera were you using to film it?
