once upon a time
to the best of my recollections
I ingested some shrooms, watched Red Dawn
and woke up in fort benning ga, with sheep shears removing my hippie locks
and mean people screaming and belittling me in a manner id be shocked if they still were able to do to todays special snowflakes.
Turned me into a dog face solider and I spent a couple of fishless years driving a bradley around Deutschland, consuming bier, chasing fraulines , pullin guard duty on gorbys wall fore ronbo raygun and the Hof made him tear it down, and pretty much whatever the uncle said you were gonna do that day.
Until youre all that you can be or 0 days and a Private Frickin Civilian wake up

So the op to give a lil sumthins back to them using one of the things that shaped my lifes and gives it meanings not real hard.
I guess its been a few years now and a good dozen or so outings and ive had a chance to share a passion with a wide variety of vets
Were pretty blessed that a benevolent land owner lets us use his stunningly awesome spread and exercise his fish to help achieve our mission of healing those that served.
im not a big fan of hero shots and I should maybe remove some faces
but they are heros and I don't mind sharing a few from the last one

the gentalman in the front of the boat is blind
ive had a chance to fish with him and his seeing eye dog noel
its neat you need to learn be very descriptive in your fishing
and his other senses relay a lot more to him

Hey fishskibum, I have a little appreciation of where you're coming from. My son started out in the 100st Airborne and now is a Green Beret stationed at Carson. He has made several trips to the land of sand as well as other hot spots around the globe (like Germany [Wink]. He was hit with some shrapnel in one little engagement in Afghanistan and ended up with a Purple Heart. He has been given a free hunt for Kodiak bear in Alaska if he wants it. And he goes right to fishing to decompress after returning from a deployment. Anyway, I sure do appreciate how you are helping vets and wish you the best in all you do. And keep those posts comin'.

The older I get the more I would rather be considered a good man than a good fisherman.

props to you for raisin em right and for him
there are not a lot of occupations or jobs that ifin you were to express your personal right
To tell your boss to take this job and shove it im going fishing today
you would have to spend some time incarcerated before you got to fish
not to mention the people trying to kill you and your team part of the gig
I havent been as blessed with the timing of [Image: IMG_6840_zpse4y103hv.jpg]

IM going to ask that the moderation team to
please delete this thread
like the others you choose to delete
it has links to non profits
https://projecthealingwaters.org/
and
https://support.woundedwarriorproject.or...&gclsrc=ds
 as does the
https://utahstreamaccess.org/
non profits ask for donations to do their work
and i guess that is not allowed here
in the new, and wether its improved is debateable
bft
i have never asked anyone here to give anything especially money
if you wanted to thank a vet in any manner
i dont think it is a bad thing
and youre welcome
