Millsite Reservoir - still some ice
#1
My son sent me a picture of Miilsite yesterday with about 3/4 of it covered with ice so we decided we could navigate around to get after some fish.

We launched about half way up the reservoir and fished where ever the ice would let us in our tubes.  We were both using fast sinking lines with size 8 bead head crystal buggers and leech patterns as usual.  We picked up some rainbows, 15" to 16" and in good shape, along with four cutthroats from 13" to 18" long.
The water temperature was 38-41 degrees and the visibility in the water of about 8'.  They are still working on the dam so the water level is only at 42% full.
The weather was great with very little wind and temperatures from the 30's to the 50's.  There was one shore angler that came for a few hours.  I would think with ths weekends storm that the remaining ice will get pushed up on shore and clear everything off.

It wasn't fast fishing but the weather made up for it. Smile
