SUGGESTION BOX

Quote:"TubeDude" pid='1095494' dateline='1584047917'Nope.  Not the browser.  I switched to MS Edge.  It showed the PDF files...unlike Firefox...but when I tried to attach one to this post...under the size limit...this is the message I got:  Some files couldn't be added  pdf - Invalid or unsupported file format.

That's really strange Pat.  My Edge browser works with both MS Word and PDF files as shown below.  Have you restarted your computer lately?  I can get some strange happenings when I leave mine on for days on end.

.doc   Pastrami.doc (Size: 29.5 KB / Downloads: 1)

Attached Files
.pdf   Pastrami.pdf (Size: 64.47 KB / Downloads: 2)

The Quote function stuck in any reply is redundent and stupit at best.
The old site that simply opened to your last read post at the location that you actuall last read was GOLDEN.
The fact that getting back on with a login was simply not possible without help from someone.
Looking at the number of Usernames that are (New) un-recoginizedand and the drastically reduced number of post indicates that this upgrade lacked any consideration for long time Users.
POORLY DONE IS BEING POLITE!!!!

I do a controlled shut down every night.  Plus, I regularly do a registry cleanup and get rid of junk files.  Haven't had any issues sending any kind of files on the old BFT forum...or with regular email.  Computer...an ancient Sanskrit word meaning "drive you crazy".

My eyes are not as good as they once were. I would like to type my posts in a little larger, bolder font, kinda like TD (but not exactly) but I have not yet figured out how to select a font size that will come up all the time without me having to change fonts each time for every post.
Like this is about the only choice I have when doing a Quick Reply, normal or bold, or Italic bold or normal italic, or any of those choices with underline .

On a new thread post, there are drop downs to select numerous different type fonts, size, and color. But those aren't available in the Quick Reply mode...........

Well, the above post was mine, accidently posting from the wifes profile, but it gets my point across I think.
  How can I make this my default font size ?

Pat or Bob will have to help you with that question, they seem to have it figured out.

Nothing indicates that one has a new private message other than a zero is changed to a number.  A nice bright beacon, or something similar, would be helpful when one has an unread PM.

You can't!  Some sites have a 'Settings' function that allows the user to set the default settings for things such as font, font size, and color.  BFT does not - so far.  I have to always select 'Full Edit' mode to be able to change the size, font, and color.  I then have to click on 'Source' and then change the font style to the one I like because it is not one of the few they offer in the font box.  I also have to manually start the spell check function as it isn't enabled by default.  That would be another suggestion - spell check should always be on by default.  I have to believe that more would want this function on than would want it off by default.

Answer these:<br />
<br />
Which OS are you using ?<br />
Did you modify your OS for privacy or security in some unusual manner ?<br />
Which Browser are you using ?<br />
Is that Browser "Tor" ? or some other variant of any popular browser - i.e Waterfox, Palemoon, Brave or Iceweasel/GNU IceCat ?<br />
What security add ons or plugins have you added to your browser ?<br />
What level of security and privacy does or computer have ?<br />
Are you using No-Script ?<br />
Are you using Ghostery ?<br />
Are you using Privacy Badger ?<br />
<br />
If you want, you can send me a PM and we can talk about what might be amiss - if it is on your end.<br />
<br />
I am using Linux - a version that I built from scratch. I have also had no problems with Mac OS, IOS, Windows 7 and Windows 10, Chrome OS, and Android in native installs and / or in a virtual environment.    My biggest issue was that this website could not send an email to my comcast address - even after I got logged in with my user name and even set up a new user name to test things out. When I contacted the Admin and gave him/her my email address , he said he could not find it.  However it was right there in my account just like it was for 15 years.<br />
The website works fine in many aspects as far as it is quite generic and a canned type product - considering it is built from free and open source MyBB (I believe the BB might stand for Bargain Basement) If you check thier own help forum you might get something of a clue. <br />
I love the suggestion box idea but, Looking at the open source code and the Help Forum I suspect there won't be much customizing unless there are already pre packaged plugins that fit the criteria.  I'll hope for the best but won't hold my breath.<br />

You should be getting an Email notice.

I wish I was receiving email notices, but alas my provider now thinks emails from BFT are spam and won't allow them to come through.  I have attempted to remedy that but no luck so far.

I don't know if I'm getting an email indicating I have a PM.  If you get a moment Curt, send me a PM so I can check it out.

For anyone else that is interested in getting an Email notice when you receive a PM, here is a link to the proceedure as well as changing your time stamp. If you know of a member that can't seem to get back on the site, with their old username, this link will also help them get on: https://bigfishtackle.com/forum/showthre...id=1094789
