Great Day

Went and hit Newton with a buddy today. Started at about 8 and left about 2. Caught probably close to 90 crappie between the two of us. Average size was about 9 inches.[Image: 20201219-090449.jpg][Image: 20201219-092110.jpg]

Any perch, bass or gills in the net? Grest crappie run.
Remember: keep the lid on the worms, share your jerky, and stop by to say hi to Cookie and the Cowboy-Pirate crew

Where we were at the ice was four inches and clear. On spot we checked was two inches of mixed. But the back part is six

One or two little gills, handful of smaller perch, and no bass

Nice report. Did you have to move around alot to find the crappie? Any depths better than others?

I drove up yesterday, but I took my car. The lot is not (edit: NOT) plowed, and there are very few places to park roadside. After getting stuck in that lot with nobody around one spring, I decided to come back with 4 wheel drive another time. I didn't see anyone catching, though there were several people out when I went by, and more getting ready to head onto the ice at their trucks.

There was one section on the west side just north of the main bay that appeared to be open water. It looked like it hasn't frozen rather than having melted.

Oh is that how you found the crappie with the panoptics. I fished it Friday and Saturday and only found perch and a lone LMB, but I was fishing shallower areas. Congrats. Looks like the side finding is worth the investment. Later J
PS I’ve still got your BFT flag if you want it.
When things get stressful think I'll go fish'en and worry about it tomorrow!

Keep in touch and I'm sure we'll be fishing the same pond again soon... I'll throw it into my rod box so I have it with me...  See you then... Jeff
