Big Cat
#1
Yesterday fished the South dike from shore.  Caught a big catfish, guesstimate about two feet long.  Made quite a few runs stripping drag.  Drag was set for possible wiper action, so not easy.  Sorry no pics.

Just wanted to release it, so tired it out and then attempted to use some small needle nose pliers to take out the hook.  The hook was too deep, and the fish was a little large for grabbing around the top and avoiding the barbs, sooo decided to lip it like a largemouth right?  Wrong.

The cat clamped down on my thumb so hard it hurt, like closing a vise on your finger!  Ouch!  Dropped it and the line broke.  Great, the fish swam off with my floating jig head hook, but fine with me.

A bit of information.  As I came back to my truck, talked to some fishermen that fished the South Marina area.  They said they caught Crappie.  So I guess the bite is on for Crappie at Willard, if you didn't know it already.
