Slow day in Florida……
#1
1st cold snap of the year pushed through last week, water temps have dropped quite a bit. Went out to some regular spots yesterday morning but the fish were gone. Waited for the tide to start coming in then moved inshore to the darker/warmer water near the mangroves. Found some willing redfish, trout and jacks once they warmed up a bit. Nothing epic but at least we found a few. Weather was perfect, 78* sunny with just a slight breeze.

Looks like you had quite a bit of fun anyway.... So in Florida is this time of year the better fishing season since the summers are so hot? Or is it pretty good all year round? Thanks for the story... J

It is good all year round, the fish just move a bit and get on different patterns when the water cools off, the cool weather definitely makes it nicer for the fisherman, as it’s not sweltering hot. The fish around here like the water warm. I’d say fishing is easier in the summer as you know where the fish are and what they are eating. Bait is also easier to get in the summer when the water is warmer.
