Rockport 5/31
#1
Finally rallied and got up to rockport around 2:30. The wind was up and there were white caps on most of the lake. Launching was interesting but I had the ramp practicly to myself. Helped a man and his son who had swamped their 12' V hull. Then hit the water with wife, 5 yr old and dog. Trolled along for quite a while before the first fish. A nice 16" rainbow, no clipped fin so I wonder if it was natural. Got another that the son lost at the boat so had to keep at it till he got another. I only had one line out, pulling a blue Rapala Fat Rap deep runner small size.

Ended the day with 2 nice bows, the second one was 14" and had a clipped left fin.

Water temp was 59 degrees. Warmer than I expected. All fish hit on the down wind run at about 3.2 mph.

River is very fishable and not off color or roaring at all.
