New Steel Leader Material
#1
[cool][blue]Thanks maddawg for sharing a link to a super new steel leader material. It is thin and flexible, and you can knot it to your fly or hook almost as well as mono. [/blue]

[#0000ff]I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but I sure wish I had had some on several past trips for northern pike on flies. They cut through heavy mono tippet like butter sometimes. The thin wire could make a difference.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]And, I can see where it would be great for the tigers of Pineview too, as a link between your regular line and your expensive muskie lure.[/#0000ff]

I bought some this spring , but have not tried it out yet . I would try it on a fly rod but broke my 7 wt a while back and not even going to try my 5 wt or 3 wt for muskies . Might be good for ice fishing too .

[cool][#0000ff]Yeah, if you are going to be throwing big flies for big fish you should use at least a 7 or 8. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Why would you use the stuff for ice fishing...unless you were fishing for northerns or tigers? I have found it best to go as small and as invisible as possible in the clearer water under the ice.[/#0000ff]
