Strawberry 3-24
#1
I went up to strawberry this morning, fished around the back side of the marina looking at a campground. I put almost 1 mile on the four wheeler from the parking area. There was about 6-8" of snow one the pond. Ice was thick, I have a metal ice scoop and I couldn't touch the bottom of the ice with it. I used a white jig head tipped with a night crawler fishing in aprox. 15 feet of water. I missed three fish lost one in the hole and released 3 nice cutthroats. The fish I caught that were suspended were maybe five feet below the ice. I didn't get anybites after 1030 in the morning. I even saw the sun what a beatuful day.

Sounds like a nice day to be out fishing. Thanks for the report, and good luck on your next trip out.

Thanks for the report. I have fished Strawberry about 12 times this winter and we are having a lot better success in water 28-32 feet deep rather than in the shallow areas like you were fishing. You prob have a better chance of catching a bow in that depth though. You may want to try deeper water for faster action next time. It sounds like your wheeler did ok even though the snow is getting deeper.
