Spring Wildlife Fair set for Flagstaff
#1
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Your whole family can enjoy a special weekend event featuring live native animals, kids activities, and a chance to learn more about wildlife and outdoor recreation. The Arizona Game and Fish Department will host its Spring Wildlife Fair at St. Mary's Catholic School in Flagstaff on Saturday, May 21.

"This is a great event for families to spend the day together and meet people involved in the outdoors, wildlife management, habitat conservation and environmental education," says Shelly Shepherd, public information officer for the Arizona Game and Fish Department.
The fun and festivities will begin at 10 a.m. and run until 3 p.m. Visitors can see live animals, including birds of prey, a desert tortoise and a Gila monster. The event will also include activities for kids, lots of freebies, and booths from a variety of conservation groups and other local organizations. Visitors can test their skills at a virtual shooting booth or simulated fishing booth.
"We are very excited about this fair," says Shepherd. "We have some new exhibitors coming this year."

Many of the fair activities will take place in the school's gym. However, people can also step outside and get a close look at a Game and Fish truck, patrol boat, and all-terrain vehicle.
Admission to the fair is free. St. Mary's Catholic School is located at 320 N. Humphreys St. in Flagstaff. For more information about the fair, call the Arizona Game and Fish office in Flagstaff at (928) 774-5045.
